LEADER | STORYTELLER | HUMORIST
The Kansas City Star says I am "transforming the future of Kansas City." The We Are Family Foundation recognized me as a top under-30 creative leader in the world. My grandma says I am "still her little buddy."Storytelling is an art. So, too, is leadership. I take the craft of them both very seriously. With an impulse for punchlines and a heart for humanity, I would love to learn how I can serve you.
High School Speech and Debate State Champion -> College Speech National Champion ->
New York University Tisch School of the Arts MA in Arts Politics ->
Internationally Recognized 501(c)3 FounderWhile the through line of storytelling and culture spans a decade, the skills and experiences I have accumulated along the way allow me to collaborate across a variety of creative mediums with an expertise in translating complex issues into stories that create learning and inspire action.Below is a documentary about my work devising an original performance at my nonprofit. This is what I am like in real life.
"You are a leader in this classroom" -My 5th grade teacher, to me, after I started a food fight during snack time.I must have internalized her message. After said food fight, I would go on to get a minor in Leadership Studies at Kansas State University, be celebrated as a grassroots activist in my hometown of Kansas City, and serve as a mentor at the 2025 Just Peace Summit in Stockholm, Sweden. From teenagers developing the next generation of climate solutions to professional artists looking to use their voice for good, I have proven able to lead with humility, curiosity, and a hunger for growth. This mentality has led to local and international recognition and I would love to bring my experience to your team.
STORYTELLER
The state of Kansas takes the activity of speech and debate very seriously. Competitive success was the springboard for my career that has since absorbed a diverse range of knowledge about the craft of writing and performing as I have grown into a professional storyteller.I have been blessed to train under a Tony-Winning Actor at the New York Public Theater, A MacArthur Genius Award-Winning playwright and performer at New York University, and an Emmy-Winning television writer at the Upright Citizen's Brigade. As such, my writing and performing experience includes poetry, stand-up comedy, hip-hop theatre, film and television, and my personal favorite, sketch comedy. I am also a SAG-eligible actor and model represented by Exposure.During my time at my 501(c)3, Heartland Arts KC, I collaborated with artists of all disciplines to write and produce variety shows about relevant policy issues in Kansas City, partnering with institutions like Starlight Theater and the KC Ballet.
HUMORIST
But enough about me, let me tell you about some of my clients.A television writer came to me with two pilot scripts. After a few weeks working closely together, both scripts got optioned by major networks. An event producer had a celebrity hosting a fundraising gala. I scripted the celebrity's speeches and run of show and the event raised nearly $1,000,000.A Foundation with global reach wanted to build community with its grantees. I helped develop a digital magazine that connected leaders from all around the world.Storytelling takes many forms. I have helped clients achieve their goals whether passion projects, brand building, or event production. Whatever storytelling need you have–

current project
Psalm 27 Club is my one man show chronicling my journey from starving artist obsessed with joining the ranks of famous creatives before 27, to finding purpose as a starving youth pastor at 28.After winning "Best Comedy" at the Flanner Fringe Lab in Indianapolis, IN, I received rave reviews at the KC Fringe Festival. I plan to tour this show for the remainder of 2025 and into Spring 2026.
My first passion project after graduate school was starting Heartland Arts KC. What began as a 3 day intensive workshop grew into a 12-week artist fellowship that is now a staple in the Kansas City creative ecosystem.Heartland Arts KC allowed me to take all I learned in New York and pour it into the artists in KC, where I've built a community of artists motivated by civic engagement.I've worn all the hats (and designed our hats) across marketing, admin, fundraising, and programs. If you're curious what this process looks like, I produced a short-form docuseries on our Instagram @HeartlandArtsKC
We partner with organizations and industry experts to inform our unique creative process. From Kansas City Kansas, Kansas City Missouri, and professional artists around the country.
Classically trained musicians, stand up comedians, rappers, dancers, journalists, and even a professional beatboxer. The HE[ART]LAND Fellowship created a space for any KC creative to collaborate and devise work about local problems.
With a different policy focus for each calendar year, Heartland Arts KC tackled houselessness, climate justice, violence prevention, and infrastructure– with a focus on citizenship in 2026 as KC hosts the World Cup.
Narrator: Then they worked together happily ever after. The end.
