How we communicate, how we connect, and how we find hope.I am here to serve you as an organizational consultant, writer, marketing strategist, video producer, speaker, or program facilitator. The ArtsKCGo Show

As a marketing effort for Kansas City's artskcgo.com I pitched, created, and now host the ArtsKCGO Show. A documentary-marketing effort to shine a light on Kansas City's creative infrastructure.

Politics

Public Policy Education

In my 5 years at Heartland Arts KC I partnered with policy experts in the fields of voter suppression, houselessness, climate justice, violence prevention, and transportation infrastructure. I've also worked as a Public Information Officer for the City of Kansas City, Missouri and served as an Executive Committee Member for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, KS.In all of these roles I have made local government accessible through clear communication, relatable humor, and innovative storytelling.

MINISTRY

Servant Leadership

Underlying all of the work is my faith. I currently serve as the Youth Pastor at Awaken Church KC. I also have produced my own faith-informed theatrical production PSALM 27 CLUB which debuted at Kansas City Fringe and won Best Comedy at the Flanner Fringe Lab in Indianapolis, IN and am currently completing a Biblical Studies certificate program through Point University.I'm happy to speak or facilitate an event at your local church or faith-based organization or consult on how your organization can communicate about current events relating to Christianity.

MA in Arts Politics

The MA in Arts Politics from NYU was a "choose your own adventure" of a degree. The adventure I chose included studying playwriting, screenwriting, and African American History.After graduation I went back to assistant teach for Anna Deavere Smith (Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992, The Westwing) in her one-person show class.

Completed Sketch Comedy 101 and 201 with instruction from Chrissy Shackelford (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver) & Kerry McGuire (College Humor).

Point University

Biblical Studies

I am currently completing a Biblical Studies certificate program at Point University. This includes both proper interpretation and practical application and this informs my ministry and teaching.

Speechwriting

Speechwriting School, hosted by the Professional Speechwriters Association at Georgetown University, helped me translate my skills as a national champion public speaker to be of service to industry leaders with both public speaking and strategic communication needs.

Founder of Heartland Arts KC

My first passion project after graduate school was starting Heartland Arts KC. What began as a 3 day intensive workshop grew into a 12-week artist fellowship that is now a staple in the Kansas City creative ecosystem.Heartland Arts KC allowed me to take all I learned in New York and pour it into the artists in KC, where I've built a community of artists motivated by civic engagement.I've worn all the hats (and designed our hats) across marketing, admin, fundraising, and programs.If you're curious what this process looks like, I produced a short-form docuseries on our Instagram @HeartlandArtsKC

Classically trained musicians, stand up comedians, rappers, dancers, journalists, and even a professional beatboxer.The HE[ART]LAND Fellowship created a space for any KC creative to collaborate and devise work about local problems.

$100,000 Raised

Through grants, individual donations, and program revenue, I was able to raise over $100,000 that went directly to supporting Kansas City artists in their pursuit of becoming stronger artists and more engaged citizens.
